About MIKA Studio
MIKA Studio is a multidisciplinary design and fabrication practice operating across furniture, interiors, objects, sculpture, and experiential environments.
The studio was founded on the belief that objects should be made with intention and made to last. In contrast to mass production, each piece is designed and fabricated by hand in Austin, Texas, using quality materials, responsibly sourced or reclaimed whenever possible. Process is central: each decision is informed by material, technique, and a respect for craft.
MIKA Studio engages in commissioned and collaborative work across residential, hospitality, and creative contexts, as well as the development of independent and collectible pieces. While the output ranges in scale and function, the philosophy remains consistent: an emphasis on longevity, material honesty, and thoughtful construction.
Not mass-produced. Not made to be replaced. Built to endure.
About Michelle
I’m Michelle Wilson—designer, craftsperson, and founder of MIKA Studio. My work began in furniture and has since expanded into a broader practice rooted in craft and experimentation.
While completing my Master’s in Interior Architecture, I fell in love with the process of making—taking an idea and giving it physical form. That process continues to guide my work today. I move between disciplines, including furniture, interiors, metalwork, and sculpture, following the needs of the piece or the client.
My approach balances traditional technique with exploration, shaped by a background in both design and entrepreneurship. I focus on material, process, and longevity—creating work that is thoughtful, well-constructed, and built to last.
At its core, the practice is about integrity and ingenuity: making things that feel considered, quietly distinct, and worth keeping.
